Job Summary: This position will teach undergraduate courses in financial and managerial accounting, or other areas in accounting as determined by department needs and candidate expertise. A significant amount of the course delivery may be in an online format. Teaching needs may include one or more of the following courses:
- Introductory Managerial Accounting (Acct IS 211), online delivery of one section in the spring. Option to cover one online section each summer.
- Accounting Principles (Acct IS 300), hybrid delivery of the course in the fall and spring academic semesters and option to cover online delivery of a summer section
The lecturer is responsible for course work preparation in alignment with learning outcomes, original content creation, holding office hours, preparation and execution of appropriate assessments, administration of the course and grading consistent with the policies of the Wisconsin School of Business (WSB.) In some cases, the lecturer may be responsible for managing graduate student teaching assistants (TAs) to help with the delivery and administration of courses. The lecturer serves as the day-to-day supervisor of the TAs.
We are looking for a candidate committed to collaboration, student-centered and inclusive learning, and research-based/applied curriculum design and development. A well-qualified candidate will have experience in course or training development, inclusive design, and/or in developing assignments and activities that help all students meet stated learning outcomes. Experience working with and serving a diverse group of learners is preferred.
Responsibilities: Facilitates classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction and assists with instructional development and design for a single course or series of courses within an academic discipline to support the delivery of quality instruction. Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom, online and/or laboratory settings, including grading. Serves as an instructor of record. 70% Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance 15% Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction 5% Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations 10% Serves the university's teaching mission through advising students outside the classroom, supporting student organizations, or participating in service to the department of Accounting and Information Systems, WSB or broader University. Education: Required
Master's Degree
We are seeking candidates who have a graduate degree in business with at least one undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting.

Qualifications: Required:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or related area (teaching or professional experience)
Preferred:
- Prior teaching experience in accounting or finance at the undergraduate or graduate level
- Expertise in creating and delivering engaging online course content
Work Type: Full or Part Time: 10% - 100%
It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
Appointment Type, Duration: Terminal, 9 month appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding
