Description: Clemson University Landscape Architecture seeks applicants for a one-year, non-tenure-track Lecturer position beginning August 15, 2024. Candidates with a passion for landscape architecture and interdisciplinary education are strongly encouraged to apply. We are looking for candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: (1) beginning design, (2) community or urban design, (3) Geographic Information Systems (GIS), (4) history of landscape architecture and/or (5) design implementation.
Successful candidates will teach core courses in the BLA and MLA curricula and will be expected to satisfy expectations for high performance in teaching as well as service contributions to the Program and School at large. Candidates hired for full-time positions typically teach an undergraduate or graduate design studio and a 3-credit course within the BLA or MLA curricula.
Clemson offers two LAAB accredited programs (BLA and MLA). The BLA was established in 1986 and the MLA in 2005. The BLA program regularly enrolls over 100 students, with MLA enrollment over 20 students. Both programs have a strong focus on design and making. Design Intelligence Quarterly regularly ranks Clemson BLA as one of the Most Admired programs in the country. The MLA program was also ranked in the Top 25 recently. Clemson University Landscape Architecture is one of four Programs in the School of Architecture including architecture, resilient urban design, and historic preservation. Qualifications: Candidates should hold an accredited professional degree in landscape architecture and a master's degree in landscape architecture or closely related field of study.
