Job Description The learning center specialist is responsible for maintaining operations of the extended campus under general supervision.
This position is based at the Lawrenceburg, TN Campus. Essential Functions:
Maintains office during regularly scheduled hours and extended hours as needed.Responds to and handles telephone, email and in-person requests for information.Assists students with admission, registration, financial aid, and business processes.Completes business office functions, including collections and deposits of fees and charges.Provides support for distance education classes.Maintains an accurate record-keeping and filing system for the site or center.Provides general secretarial support for the director.Assists in training and supervising of student workers.Promotes good public relations for the college.Distributes mail. Supplemental Functions: 1. Assists faculty in preparation of course materials when requested.
2. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Training, and Experience Required: 1. High school diploma or equivalent minimum.
2. Two years secretarial/clerical experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Work Characteristics: 1. Computer applications skills.
2. Public relations skills.
3. Communicates effectively in written and spoken English.
4. Relates to a diverse faculty, staff and student population.
5. Functions effectively as a team member.
6. Ability to operate general office equipment
7. Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Working Conditions: 1. Normal sitting and movement in an office environment.
2. Lifting and carrying of up to 25 pounds.
3. Requires travel to other Columbia State locations.
4. Requires evening hours as needed.
Title(s) Supervised: Student Workers (temporary) Hiring Salary Range: $29,090 - $34,900
