The Lead Specialist, Strategic Meetings Management (SMM) will support our DePuy Synthes Trauma/Extremities and CMF businesses and work with business partners to recommend event strategy that will increase customer engagement, sponsorship impact and amplify branding for national society meetings. They will develop event strategy and execution plans to ensure maximum engagement with target audiences and the right level of onsite logistical support is for designated large programs.

Key Responsibilities: The Lead Specialist collaborate and align with SMM Sr. Manager, Marketing and Sales associates on event external and internal event strategy, which is a critical component of our marketing and customer engagement strategy. Responsible for consistency in delivery and high-quality events, including tradeshow participation and sponsorships, large corporate events, executive or internal and other brand events or related initiatives while ensuring compliance to all legal, regulatory and HCC policies to include Advamed, Pharma, ACCME and Federal, State, and Local regulations, policies, and procedures. Partner with contracted meeting planners in the organization and execution of business-related events such as congresses, conventions, national sales meetings, surgeon ad boards and corporate programs. Owns oversite for all logistics planning and ensuring all team members are aligned. Assigns areas of responsibility, timelines, delegates tasks, and stays abreast of the status of each event and keeps relevant parties informed of updates. Leads and champions society relationships to ensure strategic alignment with commercial priorities including recommending sponsorships, advertising, and exhibit presence. Leads agenda development, logistical support, networking and communication planning with team members. Assist with theme/message development, approving location, invite lists and other important aspects for events. Control all event financial aspects including timely and accurate budget development and reporting of spend vs. actual with finance partners, SMM leadership and other team members. Ensures that the meetings team is handling all vendor payments on time and that HCP meal and sponsorship transfer of value reporting is completed accurately per Open Payments requirements. Participates in the development and implementation of event policies and procedures ensuring they are in line with business policy. Monitors performance against business goals and budgets, providing quarterly updates to business partners on meeting activity, identifying cost efficiency, and finding opportunities to enhance return on investment. Designs and applies feedback mechanisms to assess impact of events and improve future events. Consults with various departments on possible events during business planning process. Qualifications Education: Bachelors Degree (or equivalent experience) required. Experience and Skills: Required: BA/BS degree required. Minimum of 3-5 years in meetings/tradeshow industry at a healthcare or life sciences organization with confirmed ability to translate business strategy into solutions that support the company's goals. Experience must include shown success to multi-task many events, problem solve, provide direction to vendors and coordinate the activities of other associates supporting events. Detailed knowledge of event management practices, principles, and tools and experience working withing healthcare compliance guidelines. Strong written and verbal communication skills, flexible demeanor and ability to function as a member of a diverse team required. Experience in developing budgets and handling event financial reporting. Demonstrated ability to develop internal and external networks including vendors. Proven understanding of Microsoft applications. Preferred: CMP Preferred. Other: Fast paced environment with responsibility for meetings that may occur on a 24-hour, 7-day a week basis. This position will be based in West Chester, PA and will require up to 20% domestic travel, sometimes on weekends. In office attendance required a minimum three days per week. The anticipated base pay range for this position is $90,000 to $144,900. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
