(Contingent upon available funding):0.00 - 0.00, Commensurate with education and experienceWork Schedule:Monday - Friday occasionally include some evenings and weekendsJob Summary: Job Description: To develop, in each student, the skills of critical thinking and to help students learn the subject matter presented to them in order for that student to become a positive member of the community. Lead instructors are assigned to work with all adjunct and full-time faculty within a prescribed area.
Essential JobFunctions:
1. Teach a minimum twelve (12) credit hours per semester for laboratory classes or fifteen (15) credit hours for non-laboratory classes or equivalent service. This may include evening and/or online instruction.
2. Maintain student and course records with updates on the learning management system.3. Maintain and file current course outlines, objectives, and grading procedures for all courses.4. Advise and assist students in selecting appropriate academic courses.5. Post and office hours as per institutional guidelines.6. Work with the Dean and/or Department Head to develop new courses and to revise existing courses.7. Work with the Dean and/or Department Head to develop a semester class schedule, recommending faculty to teach scheduled sections and recommending section cancellations and additions, as needed.8. Develop or approve parameters for course syllabi and objectives.9. Select and distribute texts to faculty.10. Orient new faculty to assigned course(s).11. Maintain/curate common class materials needed by all instructors.12. Observe and appraise adjunct instructors.13. Establish guidelines and procedures for laboratory use, where applicable.14. Meet with course instructors once or twice a year to exchange ideas for improving courses and/or instruction.15. Remain current with developments in the discipline.16. Provide the first-level of assistance and/or response in:a. solving problems involving students and/or instructional issues.b. fielding instructor questions, concerns, or requests.c. mediating student complaints by· making every effort to resolve the problem at an appropriate administrative level· identifying ways the student can contribute to the resolution of the complaint.· supporting instructional integrity, as well as fair, even-handed treatment of students.· suggesting ways the instructor can strengthen teaching and/or presentation skills, when appropriate.· informing the department and/or division head of the situation in case the student.· decides to proceed with the issue to the next level.17. Assist in collecting and reporting assessment activity for assigned area.18. Coordinate adjunct faculty activities bya. recommending employment of adjunct faculty within the designated area(s).b. providing administrative support and supervision of adjunct.19. Make themselves available sufficient to perform the duties described above.20. Perform other duties as assigned.

MinimumQualifications: Education: Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition or Health Education required.Must have a minimum of 18 graduate hours in nutrition science. . Training/Experience:
Must be qualified to teach and provide leadership in an academic discipline and/or degree program.
Minimum of one year of college-level teaching experience. Skills, Knowledge,Abilities Required: Teaching Competence - Must be able to create lesson plans, content, presentations, ancillary materials, and assignments to effectively transform information to knowledge for students; have the ability to assess student learning and progress. Communication skills - Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with clear, grammatically correct English and prepare complex reports on deadline; requires interaction with supervisors, colleagues, students, alumni, advisory committee members, and the public, using tact, discretion, and independent judgment. Computer skills - Must be demonstrably proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel), as well as e-mail, internet, and learning management systems. Passion for assisting customers and representing the OSU-OKC and OSU brand with positivity and professionalism.
Demonstrated history of ethical and professional behavior. Preferred Qualifications:
Licensed and/orRegistered Dietitian (LD/RD).
Doctorate in related field preferred
Experience in Learning ManagementSystems such as D2L, Blackboard, or Canvas. Working Conditions:
Office environment. Exposure to chemicals found within the department and repetitive activities common to science labs, such as cutting and pipetting.Position may require up to 30% of the work week be performed outside of regular hours.Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include some evenings and weekends in an often times busy and noisy environment.Work will be performed in an office environment with a significant amount of public contact, in person, by telephone, via email, and various communication platforms.. Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting up to 25 lbs. (If an object weights more than 45 lbs., OSU-Oklahoma City requires this to be a two-person lift) unassisted, bending, standing, repetitive motions, climbing , walking and computer usage.Duties require extended periods of sitting, talking and listening.Duties require extensive use of computers, telephone and other office equipment.May be in proximity of chemicals, solutions, biohazardous material, and any other hazardous materials common to the science lab..
