We are seeking an ambitious, experienced Lead Hand for our Gasket operations located in Cullman, Alabama.
Ensure that production is in line with production goals and work instruction and meets production planning requirements. Carry out improvements and work instructions Ensure that means of production, i.e. machines, devices, equipment and tools, are technically efficient and economic Responsible for meeting material usage specifications and reducing the amount of scrap/regrind material Monitor the performance of both staff and machinery, in terms of quality and quantity Instruct operators on proper documentation and monitor documentation relating to production and quality for accuracy Other individual tasks include:
Monitor the production sequences, carrying out measures to prevent fluctuations in quality and performance (in support of the operators) Technical instruction and training of production staff on production machines, the equipment and tools, and also measuring and fabrication equipment and other special means of production Training the production staff to recognize, analyze, and eliminate faults Training in special preparation and adjusting processes and other process and production related procedures (i.e. screw and die replacement, cleaning, regular checks and adjustments, etc. Technical training for new staff Carrying out difficult adjustments to machines, devices, equipment and tools, reassuring and regulating to ensure production in line with STAKA and work instructions. Looking after the technical side of production in the particular area, responsible for ensuring that care is taken with the production equipment.--Establishing technical measures to increase output, reduce set-up and adjusting times, reduce regrind material/scrap and improve production sequences, and to put these into action Recognizing and analyzing faults and, in the case of major production faults or production which is not in line with the data sheet, shutting down production (if this can not be done by the operator) Working out operational plans (production sequence, staffing levels, etc.) for procedures which are largely manual (especially fabrication) Ensuring that safety regulations are met, and the work place is clean Responsible for quality assurance and improvements in quality, partly through knowledge of the machines, equipment, devices, tools, and measuring and regulating equipment. Noting, documenting and evaluating fluctuations in quality, and the introduction and monitoring of shut-down measures. Capable of performing and leading at an above average level when under pressure or in high stress situations Capable of carrying out the task of emergency coordinator when SS or other management is not available. Be able to fill in as the Shift Supervisor if the shift Supervisor is not available. Ensuring that all employees follow RRP's Education and/or Experience Required:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to analyze problems involving production and notify proper people. Familiarity with the metric system Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to read and carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
