JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Galvanizer Lead
Reports to: Production/Plant Operations Manager FLSA: NONEXEMPT

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Trains and supervises department Galvanizers. Competent to fully perform all duties of level "3" Galvanizer. Ability to operate all equipment in the department. Responsible for accuracy of quantities.

Performs at Level 3 plus
Leads team by assigning tasks
Assists in completion of all tasks to meet deadlines
Maintains and improves quality
Trains and ensures safety of team members
Instructs galvanizers on all equipment.
Monitors all operation of work for safety, efficiency and productivity. Checks for minimal waste and optimal quality.
Performs general housekeeping of work area; performs other duties as assigned.

Typically 4-6+ years of related experience

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Work requires an understanding of the galvanizing process, must have knowledge and ability to operate all equipment in that area. Must have the ability to train other employees and lead work activities. Safely and efficiently performs all essential functions. Have the ability to function as a team lead and member and to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Regular and predictable attendance is required.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:

Completion of a standard high school education or the equivalent or any equivalent combination of experience and training which results in the required knowledge, skills and abilities. 5+ years of experience and certified to operate forklift and crane.
