Job Summary: A Lead Food and Beverage provides Somersett residents an option to enjoy food at their own 'backdoor'. With a strong background and interest in retail food operations, food preparation, food service, vending and catering any you would fit right in. The Food Service Supervisor provides independent leadership on each concern in the areas of customer service and staff supervision, quality control, food safety and cleanliness, sustainability, food and supply ordering and requisitions and recordkeeping with accountability for profit and loss of assigned food service units.
Supervisory Responsibilities: The Lead Food and Beverage reports directly to the Resort Manager. Provides work direction to seasonal, temporary, and volunteer staff.
Duties/Responsibilities: · Develop, plan, supervise, and implement food operations at the Poolside Cabana Hut in preparation for concessions like food.
· Act in an advising role for the facility when selecting event catering, food trucks, and service offerings.
· Oversee assigned staff in the food service department.
· Maintains food production that ensures the safety and quality of food according to policies, procedures, and department requirements.
· Ensure that food items are stored in a safe, organized, and hazard-free environment.
· Maintain a sanitary department following health and safety codes and regulations.
· Maintain accurate inventory on a weekly basis.
· May prepare orders as needed to ensure accurate production for location.
· Maintain a safe and hazard-free working environment.
· Train/mentor other food service workers.
· Ensure all food safety/temperature logs are completed with appropriate corrective action, as necessary.
· Must fill in for absent employees at the location, as necessary.
· Regularly communicates with management regarding the food operations status and any problems or potential problems.
· All other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Minimum Required Skills/Abilities: · Proven experience with food service supervisor;
· Previous management experience;
· Proficient in MS Office;
· Excellent organizational and time management skills;
· Knowledge of basic recruitment practices;
· Outstanding written and verbal communication;
· Able to handle stress and remain calm;
· Excellent problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience: · At least three (3) years of related experience in the food service;
· Associate degree preferred - not required;
· Must possess a valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record;
· Food Safe Server and Manager certificate;
· Must be 21 years of age and the ability to serve alcohol;
· Must be able to obtain American Red Cross Standard First Aid and CPR Certification upon hire.
Physical Requirements: · Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and talking;
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at once;
Work requires the physical capacity of working for extended periods of time with exposure to diverse environmental situations and adverse weather conditions.
Work Schedule: We are currently looking for some part-time in preparation to opening May 1, 2023. This is a full-time seasonal position working through September 31, 2023 (with potential part-time work after.) You will work a wide range of hours, including but not limited to evenings, holidays, and weekends. The schedule worked will change with the seasons and are subject to change at any time.
