Job Description SummaryJob Description SummaryThe Nuclear Fuel Engineer will contribute to the team responsible for BWR fuel reload licensing and cycle management in GNF-A Fuels Engineering. In this role you will provide innovative licensing and design solutions that ensure high quality deliverables in accordance with customer requirements, business procedures and regulatory agency guidelines.Job DescriptionJob DescriptionEssentialFunctions/ResponsibilitiesPerform technical evaluations and provide technical support in the areas of reload licensing, cycle management, and core monitoring databanksPrepare, document and present technical data to internal and external customersEffectively communicate and coordinate activities with internal and external project managers, technical personnel, and customers onengineering/technicalissuesMaintain and/or exceed baseline project schedule and cost in delivery of nuclear fuel reload engineering deliverablesContribute to team process improvements to drive speed and simplificationEnsure work is performed with high quality in accordance with NRC rules and regulations, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standardsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor of Science Degree in Nuclear Engineering.Minimum of 5 years of experience in nuclear fuel design and analysis, nuclear safety analysis, or closely related fieldEligibility Requirements:The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified(US based)remote candidates will be considered.Ability and willingness to occasionally travel to domestic and international plant sites (less than 10%)Desired Characteristics:M.S. or Ph.D in Nuclear Engineering or closely related discipline from an accredited college or universityExperience with Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) technologyKnowledge of plant operational supportKnowledge of reactor licensing requirementsExperience with BWR core simulator and use of 3-Dimensional neutron kinetics codesProgramming experience with Python and C#.Honest and straightforward with a high level of personal integrity.Work easily and communicate effectively within a team environment.Strong personal commitment and determination.Detail oriented and accountable for results.Exceptional organization skills.Display a strong drive for continuous improvement.Strong oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsThe salary range for this position is $99k - 140k. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location.
