Through our own extensive experience incorporating additive technologies into our production process, we recognize the value and possibilities it brings to modern design and manufacturing challenges.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesExecute, with some guidance, the analysis and evaluation of material properties on various additive manufacturing platforms.Work directly with external customers to recommend various testing programs and subsequently report out final results, with intermediate updates while test programs are ongoing. Utilize statistical for the evaluation of material capability versus established standards, during both development and production phases.Create and maintain enterprise tools for the analysis and storage of data; enable colleague utilization of data for mechanical/thermal/electrical design. Maintain relationships with external vendors as well as the GE Additive Sourcing team in order to have consistent flow of material at competitive prices.Participate as primary presenter in technical and program reviews to recommend technical outputs that drive appropriate decisions. Serve as the face of GE Additive at SDO and other regulatory organization meetings.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in fields of Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related Engineering Discipline with at least three years of experience in related fields, orA high school diploma/GED with at least ten years of experience in related fields. Desired CharacteristicsStrong oral and written communication skill, particularly around technical documentation, creation of external-facings Statements of Work, and ownership over specifications.Strong interpersonal skills. Understands how to thrive in a dynamic team environment.Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.Program management skills; ability to develop, document, market, and execute programs.A strong history in material characterization, including metallography, thermal and mechanical property testing and the analysis thereof.Deep understanding of Additive Manufacturing processes (e.g., laser powder bed fusion, electron beam powder bed fusion, metal binder jet).Ability to understand metallurgy and consolidated material characteristics.This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
