Smartrr seeks an exceptional Data Engineering Lead to join our dynamic e-commerce startup. As the Data Engineering Lead, you will be pivotal in driving our data infrastructure and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines and infrastructure using BigQuery, Airflow, and other relevant technologies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights through data models, dashboards, and reports
Develop and optimize ETL processes to ensure data quality, consistency, and timely availability
Implement and maintain data security and privacy measures to protect sensitive information
Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and ownership
Actively contribute to the technical roadmap and architecture decisions, considering scalability, performance, and maintainability
Partner with stakeholders to evangelize data-driven decision-making and promote data literacy across the organization
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and best practices in data engineering
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field, with a proven track record of building and managing large-scale data infrastructures
Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with BigQuery or similar data warehousing technologies
Expertise in data orchestration and workflow management using Airflow or similar tools
Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools, preferably Looker
Solid programming skills in Node.js/JavaScript and Python for data processing and automation tasks
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS) and their data services
Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and data lake architectures
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently drive projects from conception to completion
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Passion for leveraging data to drive business growth and improve customer experiences
