A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A LEAD CARPENTER - REMODELING CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER As a Lead Carpenter - Remodeling Construction Project Manager, you ensure our jobs proceed smoothly while meeting our high standards of quality. As someone who has both leadership experience and advanced carpentry skills, you're the perfect person to manage the day-to-day checklists for our interior remodels! Alongside a member of our sales team, you meet with homeowners to review the scope of work. Organized and attentive to detail, you use software to effectively create and manage the project timeline while staying within budget.
You schedule and oversee our trade partners, developing a good rapport as you visit job sites to supervise progress. You also maintain a positive relationship with clients, providing them with updates, addressing questions, and accepting payments. As a creative problem solver, you quickly resolve any issues that arise.
While you enjoy the project management aspect of your job, you also love the hands-on element of your role. You're engaged with the demolition and building process, completing carpentry tasks such as framing, laying floors, working on finish carpentry, and installing cabinets. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A LEAD CARPENTER - REMODELING CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER High school diploma OR equivalent 2+ years of cabinet installation experience Several years of experience in the construction industry Advanced carpentry skills, including framing and finish carpentry Experience with managing a team Experience working with other skilled trade partners Knowledgeable about residential codes Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite Valid driver's license and the ability to drive with a trailer A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required. 5+ years of construction experience would be an asset. Familiarity with other skilled trades such as plumbing, electrical, painting, tile, or drywall would be a plus! Can you communicate effectively with clients and team members?
