What we do:
A Lead Battery Manufacturing Technician will assemble battery modules, fixtures, racks, and other components that the Energy Storage Systems (ESS) engineering team will use. The role will also oversee the workflow of the technician team to ensure the build schedule is met to operational and quality standards.
This position will be required to work on-site 5 days a week.
What you can do:
Oversee battery manufacturing technicians' workflows to assist the ESS department with daily task alignment for assembling battery modules, fixtures, racks, and other projects Train battery manufacturing technicians on new manufacturing processes, safety procedures, and rework processes Provide status updates to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager regarding attendance, support needed, and ongoing projects Support ESS laboratories with various assembly projects during battery production downtime Provide feedback to design engineers regarding the assembly of their parts Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the laboratory spaces Create pass-downs of daily work efforts completed by the battery manufacturing technicians Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment, such as replacing air filters, doing visual checks for damage, and standard operator-level machine calibrations Quickly adapt to constantly evolving processes of core technology while maintaining detailed notes and updated data sheets that reflect changes May require up to 10% of domestic and international travel Other duties as assigned What you can contribute:
Minimum five (5) years of experience as a technician in a fast-paced lab or manufacturing environment requiring high-accuracy execution of processes or experiments (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered) Experience in developing rework processes to salvage modules or packs Experience with power tools, torque tools, drills, and wrenches Experience with battery manufacturing equipment such as welders, bonders, adhesive dispense, etc. Experience working in an environment that requires strong attention to detail and precision Ability to assemble and rework battery modules or packs Ability to cut, crip, weld, and assemble HV cables and connectors Ability to utilize hand and finger dexterity Ability to adhere to lab and work safety policies Ability to read and understand SDS Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proactive delivery of communication and follow-up Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints Proficiency with Excel VLOOKUP, pivot tables, MS Office Suite Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background check. Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location.
The per-hour pay range for this position is:
$46—$61 USD
