Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Lead Architect specializing in residential remodeling to join our team. As the Lead Architect, you will be responsible for leading the design and execution of single-family home remodeling projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential architecture, with a focus on remodeling and renovation projects. Responsibilities:
1. Lead the architectural design process for residential remodeling projects, from concept development through to construction documentation.
2. Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and project goals.
3. Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate existing conditions and potential design opportunities.
4. Develop innovative design solutions that maximize space, functionality, and aesthetics while adhering to budget and schedule constraints.
5. Prepare detailed drawings, plans, and specifications for permit approval and construction.
6. Coordinate with structural engineers, contractors, and other consultants to ensure design feasibility and compliance with building codes and regulations.
7. Oversee the construction phase to ensure that the design intent is accurately implemented and that quality standards are met.
8. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members as needed.
9. Stay informed about industry trends, materials, and technologies related to residential remodeling.
10. Maintain effective communication with clients, project team members, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
2. Licensed Architect in Virginia, Maryland, or Washington D.C.
3. At least 5 years of experience in residential architecture, with a focus on remodeling and renovation projects.
4. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar architectural software.
5. Strong understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction methods.
6. Excellent design and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate ideas visually and verbally.
7. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and precision.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
9. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
10. Commitment to delivering high-quality work and exceeding client expectations.
