The Lead Advanced Practitioner is a clinical leader within a service line, responsible for assisting with the onboarding/orientation, education, and professional mentorship the service line's nurse practitioners & physician assistants (APs).
The Lead Advanced Practitioner collaborates with administrative & physician leadership, ensuring the strategy and goals of the department aligns with the service line's APs job roles and responsibilities. In addition to the Lead Advanced Practitioner position, he/she is responsible for providing clinical services to the service line as defined in the Advanced Practitioner job description.
Future Opportunity as a Lead Advanced Practitioner in Pediatrics in either Pulmonology, Developmental, or Nephrology JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaborates with administrative & physician leadership, in understanding, and then communicating, the goals and initiatives of the service-line to the APs.
Serve as a mentor and resource for service-line's APs, regarding clinical & professional development.
Identifies needs and required support for the APs within the department. Assists with development of programs or services, to meet those needs. 
Participates in providing educational programs for staff and physicians, in relation to the AP scope of practice, the multidisciplinary care model, and the job role of the AP.
Assist with coordination of AP students being assigned, and successfully completing clinical rotations with service-line and/or provider group.
Participates, when asked, in recruitment & hiring of APs
Assists with maintaining a formal/documented on-boarding/orientation process for APs hired onto the service line.
Facilitates and ensures completion of required AP educational activities & requirements (i.e. competency, skill reviews, mandatory in-servicing)
Participates in department's operations, clinical review/development, and performance improvement/quality committees and/or meetings.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Sit up to 3-5 hours per day; 1-2 hours at a time. Stand for up to 3-5 hours per day; 2 hours at a time. Walk 1 hour per day. Frequently lifting, carrying and pushing objects up to 10 pounds. Rarely lifting, carrying and pushing objects up to 75 pounds. Frequently stooping and bending. Frequently reaching above shoulder level. Must be able to perceive attributes of an object through touch. Must be able to hear as it relates to normal conversation, high and low frequencies. Must be able to see as it relates to general, near, far, color and peripheral vision. Must be able to speak as it relates to normal conversation and projection as it relates to lectures and presentations.
EDUCATION: Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner, Osteopathic Physician Assistant, or Medical Physician Assistant with current license to practice in the state of Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey. Physician Assistants must also have a current certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years AP experience in specialty or service-line
