The lead accountant position is responsible for Communications Company revenue results related to promotions. The role requires in-depth results analysis, process simplification, reporting and response to various ad hoc requests.
The lead accountant will be responsible for all aspects of the book close process including journalizing monthly entries to ensure compliance with GAAP. The team member will work closely with our partners on all issues which includes CFO, Partnerships, Wireless Device Accounting and Marketing.
Various initiatives impacting GAAP, Legal Entity/Partnerships, or Regulatory financial results.
Query, process & analyze large datasets.
Support external and internal audits as required.
Ensure controls are in place and adhered to for all parts of the process.
Account Balance Reconciliations/Balance Sheet Analysis
Review promotions and determine proper accounting treatment.
Process Simplification utilizing a variety of different tools and/or software packages.
Develop and maintain detailed M&Ps for all processes.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree - Accounting
Master's degree or CPA preferred.
The position requires strong data analytic and system skills. Software packages utilized:
Power BI
Toad or equivalent SQL program
Business Objects
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Prepares journal entries, maintains and reconciles ledger accounts.
Manages record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions.
Balances books periodically and prepares profit and loss, income and balance sheet statements.
Oversee company receipts and disbursement reports.
Prepare federal, state, and local reports and tax returns.
Analyze and interpret reports and records for managers.

Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results, and resolves problems.
