LAUNDRY ATTENDANT JOB DESCRIPTION Job Class: Non-Exempt Reports To: Laundry Supervisor POSITION SUMMAR Y : The Laundry Attendant is responsible for processing and cleaning all soiled linens from all hotel outlets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: NOTE: Hotel Andaluz may unilaterally may change the requirements of this job description at any time. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. These include, but are not limited to, the following: Picks up soiled linen from laundry schute area. Processes all soiled linens, including drying, pressing and folding. Stocks sufficient linen supplies in appropriate laundry areas. Sorts and separates soiled linens according to established procedure. Folds, irons, and restocks linens. Maintains upkeep and cleanliness of laundry room areas daily. Assists with periodic linen inventories. Operates and maintains all laundry equipment. Cleans dryer filters twice daily. Operates washers, dryers, presses, and other laundry equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Monitors equipment operation, informing Engineering of malfunctions. Monitors laundry chemical usage. Informs management of chemical inventory levels. Enters daily log of laundry activities Follow all company safety and security policies & procedures; report any safety hazards, accidents or injuries and complete safety training and certifications. All other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDES EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Minimum 1 (one) year of experience directly related to the essential functions listed above. Must display very good organization and time management skills. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with many types of personalities. Must have sound judgment and discretional skills and be able to work with little supervision. Must be able to consistently work under pressure and simultaneously prioritize multiple projects while maintaining strict attention to detail. Able to train others in a work setting. Must be able to work evenings as needed and may be required to work overtime. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Previous hotel experience. Prior experience in a janitorial or housekeeping position.
