Seeking a Laboratory Technician for a Contract-to-Hire opportunity in Kirkland, WA. Our client is a high-tech company specialized in chemical energy storage technology research and product development.The Lab Technician works closely with lab management, other technicians, and engineers to support flow battery engineering lab operations running safely and efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform experiments at the bench level to support investigative work.
Assists in the setup of process, test, and evaluation equipment.
Report any issues related to the process and/or the lab and help find the solution.
Troubleshoot the instruments and arrange regular maintenance working with other team members and the instrument vendors.
Maintains records and files of all completed engineering lab work per oral or document instructions.
Make recommendations, adaptations, and modifications for review and consideration by lab management and engineers.
Perform manual tasks around the lab such as disposing hazardous waste, organizing, and cleaning lab benches and stock room.
Perform general procurement and preparation tasks to maintain lab supplies.
Ensure that all safety procedures are observed during laboratory work.
Position Qualifications:
Minimum of 2+ years working as an engineering technician.
Associate's degree in a chemical or engineering field highly desired.
Moderate mechanical skills to support assembly and disassembly.
Have operational understanding of common bench test equipment.
A high degree of ownership of procurement, the ability to adapt to issues as they arise, and provide solutions.
Able to multitask and implement effective time management.
Proficiency in using Excel and Word.
Exhibits familiarity with proper lab safety procedures.
Ability to lift 25 pounds, with or without accommodations.
Good communication skills and well organized.
Experience working in a lab environment with hazardous materials.
Work closely with technical staff in planning, implementing, and conducting tests, as well as with data collection.
Familiar with operating and maintaining lab equipment.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, 3-day work week, flexible schedule.
