Kelly Science & Clinical is currently seeking Lab Technician candidates for a chemical company located in Baytown TX. The overall purpose of this role is to utilize a variety of laboratory equipment to analyze samples, produce reliable results, and report findings.
Responsibilities Receive, label, and analyze samples according to standard operating procedures
Record all data and results in specified forms with accuracy
Interpret data and recommend blend adjustments as needed
Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment as required
Assist in ordering laboratory supplies
Organize and store all chemicals according to safety instructions
Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment
Collect samples from tanks and railcars
Requirements AS/BS degree in Chemistry or related field
5+ years of lab experience in QC or R&D
Experience with some or all of the following: viscometers, coulometers, digital pH meters, auto titrators, colorimeter, digital refractometers, densitometers, UV-Vis spectrophotometers
Experience working in the manufacture or analysis of ingredients or finished goods
Ability to climb tank stairs and climb under and on top of rail cars to collect samples
Ability to work autonomously, switching back and forth from one task to another with ease and competency
Experience handling and working with both hazardous and nonhazardous chemicals
Must be able to pass respirator fit test
Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
This is a Direct Hire opportunity with a Monday through Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm work schedule.
