Job Summary For those interested in Laboratory Technician I role, then this is the perfect job for you. The weathering lab technician helps the architectural coatings group by preparing, painting, and ratings various substrates for natural weathering.
Job Description The site has a test fence where different substrates are mounted for long-term testing. The weather lab technician will coordinate projects with the exterior technical specialist and perform repetitive tasks such as board painting with coatings provided from other lab members, reading color and gloss changes on the boards at planned time intervals, and rate the boards for coating degradation. This individual needs to be comfortable working independently or in tandem with other lab members as well as performing some tasks outside such as substrate mounting and removal from the test fence. Data entry and preparation of reports are also part of the daily tasks for this position. Skills Required Experience in laboratory activity - safe chemical (paint) handling and disposal Experience in technical documentation desired- Detailed oriented and with high sensitivity to timeline is a must Proactive in task management and ability to address/take care of basic laboratory facilitation Must have a strong sense of work ethic and self-motivation. Must operate with a high sense of urgency. Must be able to work comfortably in a team environment and also effectively on individual efforts. Must have basic computer skills and be comfortable with email, MS Word and MS Excel. Must have the highest standards of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail. Must be flexible and capable of adapting to priority changes on a daily basis. Must possess good oral and written communication skills. Education/Training/Certifications A high School diploma is required with 4 years practical laboratory experience, an Associate's degree with 1 years practical laboratory experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a scientific field. Company recognizes Institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Additional Requirements Shift Time: Monday through Friday - 8am-5pm. Pay Rate $21.00 per hour We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
