Labor And Employment Attorney

Direct Counsel is looking for a Labor and Employment Attorney for an excellent Law Firm located in Los Angeles, CA. Ideal candidates will minimally have 3 years of experience in labor and employment, strong working knowledge of the Federal and State labor and employment laws, including administrative rules, regulations, and policies.
Requirements Provide pragmatic legal advice and counseling regarding issues and inquiries pertaining to employment and labor practices and strategies for avoiding liability exposure, including those related to HR practices, performance management, recruiting, hiring, leaves of absence, employee accommodations, compensation and benefits, and wage and hour matters Monitor, research, analyze, and interpret relevant state and federal laws and regulations including state labor codes, Title VII, ADA, FLSA, CFRA, & FMLA Assist clients with investigations, terminations, and disciplinary actions Review, revise, and draft appropriate workplace policies, procedures, and employee handbooks Review and analyze clients' operations and documents to advise on compliance issues Assist clients with wage and hour practices to ensure compliance with the FLSA and California Labor Code, including exempt/non-exempt classification, worker/independent contractor classification, and timekeeping and payroll practices Draft formal and informal correspondence and memoranda Maintain direct interaction and effective communication with clients Benefits Qualifications: (Education / Experience) J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school Licensed in California 3-5 years of experience as an attorney at a reputable law firm or in-house legal department Compensation: Highly Competitive salary, Bonuses and Benefits Job Type: Full-time - Onsite
