/ Duties
Within the Sample Preparation Department, the Sample PreparationTechnician 2 will work with client samples (primarily minerals and miningmaterials) and prepare them for laboratory analysis.- Drying, crushing, splitting, pulverizing, sieving (includingInternational Soils)- Loading and unloading drying ovens- Maintaining production logs- General cleaning duties for maintaining basic lab cleanliness- Handling compositing, screen metallic, special handlingrequests, etc.- Inspecting equipment and informing leadership ifadjustment is required- Ensuring analytical quality- Observe established safety regulations and comply with allhealth and safety policies and procedures; Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Good hand-eye coordination- Good organizational skills- Ability to work independently or as part of a team- Basic alpha/numeric comprehension- Basic English communication skills (written and verbal) Required Qualifications
- Prior work experience in a commercial minerals laboratory orminerals sample preparation highly preferred- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time- Ability to work in a hot and dusty environment- Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks- Ability to lift up to 50lbs; (occasionally lifting may exceed50lbs and assistance is mandatory from either another employee or the liftassist equipment)- Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, whichincludes periodic sedentary responsibilities Pay/ Schedules/Shifts
M-F4:00pm – 12:30am or M-F 8am-430pm in a mineral lab. The position will requirewearing a respirator. They will do orientation their first few days working an8am- 4:30pm shift. During those shifts, they will make $18.39 per hour. Once onevening shift, they will make $20.39.Total of 2 Night shift positions available – 4pm – 12:30am – $20.39 an hour About Actalent
