POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for tracking and analysis of samples; prepare documents relating to product specifications and analysis results; conduct basic analytical testing of samples; Assist in conducting complex standardized lab test methods according to established protocols and methods; Generate release report documents and maintain controlled documents. Keeps work area and equipment safe, clean and in good working order.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: All duties of a Laboratory Aide and Technician I as neededTrack and monitor the flow of samples through the laboratory to make sure analyses are completed in the allotted timeConducts and documents testing within prescribed timeframe, as per designated SOP'sMaintain the various lab databasesMaintain raw material skip lot testing programAssist in conducting complex standardized lab test methods according to established protocols and methodsAssist in simple instrument maintenance and repairAssist in preparation of test solutions, reagents and chemical compoundsAssist in the stability testing programReport analytical results according to sample reporting requirementsRelease raw materials for production useWork in a team environment with only minimal supervisionConduct basic standardized lab testsAssist in ordering laboratory equipment, supplies, standards and reagentsTrain and provide technical assistance to laboratory personnel as requiredAssist in performing basic mathematical and statistical analyses of resultsAssist with the Stability program. Pull and log in samples for observation/testing at appropriate intervalCoordinate testing with other departments (Micros and Analytical) and outside labs when necessaryEnsure samples are returned to appropriate locations or disposed of when testing is finished; Use Chain of Custody to track sample location and disposal depending on experience/trainingTrack and analyze samples for microbial growthPrepare media, plates, and conduct sample destruction in the microbiology labOther duties as assignedREQUIREMENTS: AS Chemistry 0-1 years of laboratory experience or 3 years laboratory experience; Quality control experience helpfulExperience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (especially Excel, Access and Word)Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory procedures, testing instrumentation, and experimental design and controlsExperience with the following analytical instruments is useful: Combustion analyzers, pH Meter, FT-IR, physical property testing.Experience with microbiological assays and aseptic techniques are helpfulAbility to interpret, analyze, reason and plan#IN
