Quality Lab Tester – 3rd shift Pay rate: $24.48/hour - $28.48/hour + shift differential
Shift differential: Base rate + $2.00/hour
Tasks
1. Perform accurate product testing as outlined in the department procedural manuals.
2. Have the ability to recognize and react to adverse trends, off spec material, or poor product performance characteristics on manufactured products and report to supervision.
3. Responsible for performing quality checks and recording results. May require entry into other departments.
4. Responsible for changing settings on equipment during changeovers.
5. Responsible for properly recording all production numbers in the required format.
6. Responsible for performing some routine maintenance on equipment.
7. Responsible for knowing and following all plant, department, and job safety rules. Must maintain an acceptable level of housekeeping in the shop and after completing assigned jobs.
8. Responsible for wearing and using all required PPE. (hard hat, steel toe shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, etc).
Qualifications
1. Able to work in a manufacturing setting in a safe manner and follow all plant safety rules and practices.
2. Maintain a high standard for housekeeping within the work area.
3. A self-motivated individual with an ability to work independently with minimal supervision is preferred.
4. Computer skills needed for data entry, reporting, review and/or revise documents in Microsoft Office Programs. Process will involve quality data or require comments related to the production operation.
5. Recognize measurements that are outside of a specified range.
6. Read measuring devices - standard tape measure down to 1/32' and a micrometer down to 0.001'.
7. Read and complete documented inspection procedures.
8. Must be able to read, write and possess basic math and science skills.
9. Ability to learn to operate Lab equipment.
10. Familiar with common hand tools and how to properly use them. (Hammer, wrench, screwdrivers, pliers, putty knife, etc.)
11. Ability to troubleshoot minor issues within a process.
12. Good communication skills needed with all co-workers.
13. Recognize unsafe conditions or hazards within work area.
14. Demonstrates the ability to cooperate with co-workers in areas of safety, quality, production/maintenance, and understands importance of completing assigned tasks and their relationship to other requirements.
15. Able to learn procedures and retain information for continuous use.
16. Ability to use on-line tools to monitor product specifications to ensure product compliance.
17. Ability to make machine and process adjustments to ensure product is within required specifications.
Requirements:
1. Must be available for overtime and call-ins as required.
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
