Job Description:
Responsible for timely analysis of raw materials, aging inventory, work in process/bases, and finished products.
Ensure adherence to company specifications, customer requirements, product authenticity, and recording of results.
Perform organoleptic testing of incoming raw materials and outgoing products.
Physical testing of incoming and materials such as refractive index, density, flash point, etc.
Ensure scales and equipment is calibrated and inventory of lab is stocked.
Process and investigate customer complaints.
Shelf-life extension testing.
Supports and completes Quality and Food Safety programs such as Glass Breakage Audit, Good Manufacturing Audits, and Environmental Monitoring swabs.
Effectively communicate and manage recorded quality issues and non-conforming results to internal customers and cross-functional teams.
Assist in root cause analysis and recording of results in the operating system.
Compliance to Good Manufacturing Process, Food Safety, Allergen Handling, Food Defense, and other Food Safety/Food Defense parameters.
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, or closely related degree.
1-3 years of experience in a lab, food/flavor industry, or quality control preferred but not required.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PP, Outlook, etc.
Team player, able to meet deadlines, and adaptable to changing priorities and quality issues.
