The Hunt lab is located on the Health Sciences campus at UC Irvine and equipped with state-of-the-art research facilities. UC Irvine is a world-class research university with highly ranked graduate programs in neuroscience and biological sciences. Our Southern California location is home to one of the largest academic research and biotechnology hubs in the US. This full-time position is to contribute to our studies on nervous system development and injury. Primary job responsibilities will include work with mouse models, animal surgeries, behavior assays, immunostaining, assist with electrophysiology or calcium imaging experiments and data analysis. Other responsibilities may include assisting with maintenance, differentiation and characterization of induced pluripotent stem cell lines, viral vectors, gene editing and reprogramming in cell lines and other molecular biology approaches and/or laboratory management (e.g., animal colonies, protocols). The ideal candidate will have previous research experience in an area of neuroscience relevant to our lab interests. Total Compensation:

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $19.69 - $22.82 (Hourly Rate). The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $19.69 - $22.82 (Hourly Rate). Department Website:
Department of Anatomy & Neurobiology Required: Graduation from high school or a General Education Diploma and one year of laboratory experience or two years of college including courses in the natural, physical or social sciences; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledges and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position. Experience in basic laboratory techniques and excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills Prior research experience molecular biology, neuroscience, stem cell biology or another relevant area is highly desired but not necessary. BS, MS or equivalent degree in Biology, Neuroscience or a related field Ability to follow oral and written instructions Effective communication skills, verbal and written Attention to detail Excellent organization and planning skills Ability to take accurate and detailed laboratory records Ability to work selflessly in a team environment Laboratory experience Excellent computer skills, including usage of MS office Ability to perform basic calculations (percentages, ratios, etc) Special Conditions Required: Some weekend work is required (e.g., for training animals for behavior) Conditions of Employment:
