Summary/Objective The Kitchen/Back of House Manager sets the tone for the kitchen staff. This person will lead their team in creating an accurate and efficient food-service environment. Plans, directs, and supervises the food preparation. Coordinates planning, budgeting, or purchasing for food operations. Makes employment decisions including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, evaluating, and disciplining kitchen personnel as appropriate.

Provides leadership to and daily management of the kitchen Holds staff accountable for recipes made to spec, every time Ensures employees are well trained and knowledgeable concerning the menu, processes, policies, and systems of the restaurant Develops and documents kitchen standards and processes Trains staff on proper food preparation and kitchen safety techniques Fosters an exciting and inclusive environment for the kitchen staff Manages inventory, placing orders, and minimizing waste Ensures all equipment and systems are in proper working order Leads by example, prepping, cooking, and plating Maintains a compliant and safe environment Upholds a standard of best-in-class food preparation practices Performs other duties as assigned Competencies Leadership Skills.
