… and it was in that dream that God visited John "Big Daddy" Bishop and told him to open a restaurant. Mr. Bishop obliged and opened the original Dreamland in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in 1958. In the early years, the restaurant sold everything from burgers to postage stamps. It was their hickory-fired ribs, however, that quickly became the local favorite. Are you ready to turn up the heat and join an exciting team? Legendary Dreamland BBQ is seeking a Back of the House Kitchen Manager who has a solid background in restaurant management. Someone whose focus is on food and labor cost, inventory, financial management, and staffing direction. With a specialization in open pit cooking the Kitchen Manager will lead their team in achieving the high level of food quality and presentation that our guests and customers have learned to love over the years! To be successful in this role you must have a commitment to the following: Dedication to achieve the highest level of team performance Drive to increase sales and profitability Passionate about the development and training all employees to achieve employee retention Effective cost control while following company guidelines, policies and procedures Core Responsibilities Assist with all purchasing and inventory.  Supervising and overseeing the production and preparation of food in a manner consistent with established recipes and procedures In conjunction with all Management, enforcing compliance with all employment policies and overseeing cleanliness of restaurant and safety of guests at all times Directing productivity to monitor and maintain efficient and effective food item ticket times Managing performance of Back of House employees, including conducting performance evaluations, coaching, and discipline Conducting formal line Taste & Temp checks as part of overall responsibility for inventory and safety in the kitchen Overseeing the proper handling, maintenance, and storage of all items Understanding, managing, and practicing safe food handling procedures Managing food costs, tracking waste, and controlling kitchen labor costs Training Back of House staff on equipment maintenance and cleaning procedures Creating a safe, fun, and clean work environment for the staff in a manner consistent with our core values and operational goals Our Success Starts With You!  Check out these great benefits!

Must be certified according to Federal, State, and local laws for a specified area. 
Experience:  Must have a minimum of 3 years of food and beverage management experience. General management experience is plus.
