JOB ADVERTISEMENT Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated individual to assist in the administration, supervision, coordination, and evaluation of our school program. This role is paramount in ensuring the success and inclusivity of our students. Essential Functions:
- Offer guidance and support to department leaders and teachers to enhance curriculum and instruction through classroom observation and access to resources.- Develop, implement, and evaluate programs aimed at preventing disciplinary issues, and provide guidance to staff in resolving student-related problems.- Identify areas that require staff development and assist in designing and delivering training programs.- Oversee co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.- Assist with communication to parents and the community, as well as designing programs to engage them in the school program.- Collaborate with the principal and school committees to identify areas that require policy changes, and participate in policy development.- Aid in identifying important factors that influence the school program.- Create and maintain a calendar of school activities.- Conduct research, prepare reports, complete questionnaires, and surveys.- Manage assigned staff, including assigning responsibilities, resolving workload issues, providing training, and conducting performance evaluations.- Ensure a safe, orderly, and discrimination-free school environment that promotes academic excellence and success for all students.- Foster a harmonious and effective workplace environment. Qualifications :
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following:
- A Master's Degree in Education or a related field.- At least two years of professional teaching experience.- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.- Valid driver's license.- Principal's license from the State of Minnesota. Required Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge:
- Familiarity with district policies and procedures.- Understanding of curriculum requirements and learning objectives.- Awareness of state and federal laws and regulations governing public education.- Knowledge of effective management practices, including strategic planning, budgeting, purchasing, contract management, customer service, and employee supervision.- Familiarity with community resources and training programs.- Proficient in making effective oral presentations.- Competence in computer applications.- Strong grasp of business English, spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Skills:
- Ability to coordinate and manage school operations.- Application of educational standards and procedures, as well as federal and state rules and regulations.- Establishment and maintenance of a positive learning environment, and management of discipline issues.- Planning, organization, and coordination of school staff.- Assessment and prioritization of multiple tasks, projects, and demands.- Preparation, review, and presentation of management reports.- Effective communication, both oral and written.- Contribute productively to team goals and objectives.- Commitment to the district's mission and core values. Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge:
- Understanding of Restorative Practice/Restorative Justice in K-12 Education.- Familiarity with Trauma-Informed Teaching Practices.- Strong working knowledge of the Individual Disability Education Act and Minnesota State Special Education regulations. Skills:
- Support the implementation of MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) interventions to ensure inclusive education.- Aid Special Education teams in conducting comprehensive evaluations to promote inclusive practices.- Assist Special Education teams in implementing Positive Behavior Support Plans and finding alternative solutions to traditional disciplinary actions.
