Epiphany School seeks a lower elementary classroom teacher to join our kindergarten and lower division teaching team (grades PK - 2) for the 2024-25 academic year, beginning August 2024. This individual will create, manage, and participate in a variety of learning environments and activities, providing opportunities for students to develop to their fullest potential. This includes designing and teaching the grade-level curriculum; assessing, evaluating, and supervising students; managing the classroom supplies and resources; communicating with families; and participating in robust professional learning and development. Lower division teachers strive to cultivate an environment that allows our kindergarten students to build leadership skills, actively engage and participate in their own learning, and build solid foundational academic and social emotional skills.  
The individual who will be successful in this role will demonstrate Epiphany School values, bring lower elementary school experience, delight in teaching children in this stage of development, work to develop student agency, and contribute to strong collaboration within a team.
This is a full-time, exempt, academic position, reporting to the Lower Division Head.
Primary Kindergarten Teacher Responsibilities: Establish and manage a safe and healthy classroom environment and culture, based on the school's mission and values Plan, teach, and assess academic and social-emotional curricula in collaboration with grade level partner, specialist teachers, and Lower School Division Head Align curriculum with national, state and Common Core standards Assess and record student learning and growth through culminating projects and the use of formal and informal assessment tools and progress reports, communicating results to administration and families Organize and lead field trips integrated with curriculum Collaborate and coordinate with specialist teachers to create grade-level experiences (i.e., school performances, STEM and outdoor ed experiences) Coordinate the volunteer efforts of the parent body through collaboration with designated room parents Communicate weekly with families using the school's newsletter and website when applicable Expectations For All Teachers at Epiphany School: Create a learning environment based on Epiphany School's three Rs and three Cs: respect, resourcefulness, responsibility, curiosity, confidence, and courage Use Responsive Classroom approach as a framework for working with students Implement instructional strategies that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds and learning differences Assess student progress and maintain effective record keeping procedures Attend grade-level and faculty meetings as scheduled Effectively and efficiently manage classroom resources and budget Provide recess supervision as scheduled Participate in the school community, including professional learning, service learning, and community events Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor Typical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bachelor's degree in education, curriculum and instruction, or related field required Teaching certificate and endorsement in grade or field required A minimum of 3+ years of lead teaching in an elementary school classroom setting preferred Must have excellent classroom management, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills Must have experience in the integration of technology in teaching practice Ability to handle competing priorities and maintain professionalism, attention to detail, and process improvement strategies in a creative and changing environment Excellent oral, written, and presentational skills in the English language; fluency in additional languages a plus Computer savvy in Windows environment, including MSFT Suite programs Proactive in identifying process improvement opportunities Valid CPR/First Aid certification (not required at time of application – new hires will have time to complete if needed) Compensation & Benefits: The salary range for this role is between $63,675 and $118,380 based on years of experience, education, and professional development credits according to our school's Faculty Compensation System pay scale. When determining an initial offer, we carefully consider these factors and will ask the intended hire for documentation to verify the correct pay lane and step.
