Summary
This Is My Child is an early care and education center located in the Middle Tyger Community Center in Lyman, SC. It is a full-time position, 7:30-4:30, Monday-Friday. The center operates on the Spartanburg County School District 5 calendar and is therefore closed in the summer and major holidays. The average number of days of work in a school year is 195 days. A 4K Teacher Assistant supports the Teachers and the Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. Duties Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children. Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials. Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and progress reports. Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling. Help ensure a smooth, daily transition from home to the child care center. Follow all center policies and state regulations. Maintain personal and professional development plans to ensure continuous quality improvement. Requirements At least 18 years of age High school degree (or equivalent) Reliable High level of flexibility Physically able to perform the job of a teacher of young children A minimum of 6 months experience working in a DSS-licensed facility (highly preferred) Permission to run a criminal background check Other Requirements to be completed at your expense:

Current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid training (free training schedule availability
Annual blood-borne pathogen training, which includes an exposure control plan
Completion of SC DSS 15-hour health and safety course

Operate on the Spartanburg County School District Five calendar, closed the months of June and July.
Position hours are 7:30-4:30, Monday-Friday.
