We're on the lookout for a dynamic and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team and provide remote services to our K-12 student community throughout the ******** school year. As a remote Occupational Therapist, you'll be instrumental in fostering our students' independence, participation, and overall success in both academic pursuits and daily activities.
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments to pinpoint students' strengths, areas for improvement, and functional needs regarding fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and school engagement.
Craft personalized occupational therapy plans tailored to each student's unique goals and objectives, working closely with teachers, parents, and fellow educators.
Deliver direct occupational therapy services via teletherapy platforms, including engaging in therapeutic exercises, activities, sensory integration techniques, and offering recommendations for adaptive equipment.
Assist in implementing accommodations and modifications to ensure students have optimal access to the curriculum and are fully engaged in classroom activities.
Collaborate with teachers to seamlessly integrate sensory strategies and fine motor activities into daily classroom routines and teaching methodologies.
Regularly monitor students' progress, making adjustments to intervention plans as necessary, all while maintaining accurate documentation of therapy sessions, assessments, and progress reports.
Participate in virtual meetings, consultations, and professional development opportunities to support our interdisciplinary team and continually enhance your clinical skills.
Qualifications:
Hold a Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Possess current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of New Mexico.
Hold certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
Preferably, have experience working with children and adolescents in either a school or pediatric setting.
Demonstrate exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, parents, educators, and other stakeholders remotely.
Show proficiency in utilizing teletherapy platforms and technology for seamless virtual service delivery.
Exhibit the ability to work independently, efficiently manage caseloads, and effectively prioritize tasks in a remote setting.
Demonstrate a commitment to upholding ethical standards, maintaining confidentiality, and promoting cultural competence in service delivery.
