Role: Junior Accountant – Contract Compensation: $28.62/hr Duration: Contract through January 30th, 2024 -potential to be extended Hours: Monday – Friday 8a – 5p (hybrid) Location: Chicago / 60601 – close to the Daley center Office attire: business professional Junior Accountant – We are looking for a finance, accounting, or business administration degree with experience as an auditor, accountant, or financial analyst.

What's a typical day as a contract Junior Accountant ? You'll be: Handle basic accounting entries
Learn and gain an understanding of government / non-profit accounting
Bank Reconciliation
Escheatment Process
Check imaging.
Check status – cashed vs outstanding.
Collection Warrant Process
Cash reconciliation and receipt and disbursements
Perform comprehensive accounting responsibilities for the office
Responsible for perform daily bank activities, revenue expenses, account analysis and reconciliations
Prepare and enter journal entries
Assist with financial reporting processes including closing analysis and reconciliations, bank reconciliations, fixed asset and grant reconciliations, financial statement preparation and analysis
Assist with annual ERP system closing, external audit and more
This job might be an outstanding fit if you: Accountant V – We are looking for a finance, accounting, or business administration degree with experience as an auditor, accountant, or financial analyst. This position will be open till January 30th with the potential to be extended
Have a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
Have some work experience in accounting, auditing, or financial analysis
Are comfortable with entry-level positions
Experience with Oracle EBS or similar ERP software
Comfortable commuting downtown working in a professional office environment
