Description Concept Plus is hiring a Junior Database Administrator as part of a team tasked with the development and sustainment of oracle database application for a U.S. Defense Agency. The Database Administrator will work with other team members (Sr. and Mid-level developers, business analysts, testers, DBAs) to maintain, design, develop and implement solutions, document and/or present technical aspects of solutions and support testing and validation of applications. They will help implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the databases. Implements data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolves Oracle database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other
distributed data issues. Performs a variety of tasks.
The ideal candidate should possess solid experience in Oracle Enterprise Server, Linux, AIX, Windows, VMware, SQL Plus, and PL SQL. They must have experience in Agile development methodologies and support a team through the sprint process. They must understand DoD cybersecurity requirements and must have an active DoD public trust clearance to be considered for the position, or clearable for public trust.
Primary Responsibilities: Apply industry best practices and techniques to design, develop, test, deploy, support, and maintain Oracle backend features based on business requirements using approved technologies and coding standards.Work with Developers and DBAs to ensure consistency in processes and completion of deliverables among team members.Work Tickets/Incidents/Issues/changes/requests to resolution.Support SME tasks for Performance Tuning.Ability to apply patches to database servers and clone environments is required.Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer and information technology or related field.Security+ or comparable certification required (but may be obtained within 6 months of hire).2+ years database server patching and Oracle application development.US Citizen with Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain one)Experience working in Agile software development environment.Good knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Server, Linux, AIX, Windows, VMware, SQL Plus, and PL SQL.Experienced with Server work, deployments, and building packages.Strong attention to detail.Excellent listening skills with a sincere, collaborative approach.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Genuine attitude of service with a strong desire to produce quality work.Preferred Qualifications: Security + Certification a plusFamiliarity with JIRA and Confluence.Experience with geographically diverse teams.Have DoD experience or HIT.Experience with Informatica, SAP Business Objects, SQL*Developer, TOAD, Shell Scripting is a plus.Experience with collaboration of development of solutions and metrics.Ability to analyze data and create and review processes.
