Full job description CCOM Medicine Administration is seeking a AV Technician (IT Support Consultant) to work in collaboration with HCIS, ITS, and CCOM Operations team supporting enterprise AV implementation and operational support of AV systems and related technologies. Coordination with multiple departments and AV contractors during project implementation and provide daily support of installed systems. AV systems include Conference and Meeting rooms, Event Spaces, Digital Signage, Audio systems and other supported AV systems. This position will also need a basic understanding of various teaching technologies used in our spaces; learning management systems, students response, lecture capture, and online meeting applications.

Duties to include:
IT Support Implementation and Maintenance Service Management – Supports all departmental services. Installs, tunes, and applies maintenance releases to supported hardware and applications of moderate complexity to improve or attain satisfactory performance. Deployment of AV supported systems, coordination of AV contractors, and maintenance of supported systems. Independently installs hardware and software related to teaching technologies that adheres to organizational security and licensing requirements. Independently tests new software and hardware versions and configurations. Provides feedback regarding compatibility, performance, and effectiveness. Provide AV support to select events in college spaces. IT Support Troubleshooting Provides broad and advanced support to a variety of complex hardware and software issues as assigned. Investigate and evaluate complex hardware and software issues. Knows where to locate advanced help facilities and troubleshooting guides. Identifies available resources and support systems for troubleshooting. Perform troubleshooting support for audio video systems in large and small classrooms, conference, meeting and event spaces. Consultation/Business Analysis Provides basic/advanced one-on-one guidance and consultation to Carver College of Medicine constituents. Communicates possible solutions for AV tools to customers. Recommends basic software and hardware requirements. Provides input and recommendations on organizational support procedures, guidelines, and policies. Participates in creating awareness within the organization of specific changes in hardware and software. Provides some guidance on effective pedagogical uses of AV tools. Training Provides basic and complex training to individual and small groups of constituents. Provides training to peer IT staff. Compiles a list of key issues and considerations with regards to training delivery. Classifies key activities associated with training delivery. Gathers information on major methods and vehicles to deliver training programs. Supports the compliance to quality requirements and industry standards for delivering a specific training program. Documentation/ Knowledge Management Assists/Leads with the development of service-level documentation. Maintains existing service-level documentation. Assists with the development of knowledge base. Explains advanced/working concepts behind effective technical documentation. Identifies available delivery alternatives (e.g. paper, on-line) in local environment. Can write clear and concise documentation. Project/Service Management Assist with the implementation of approved projects, providing project support and services. May manage small projects or one or more phases of larger projects. Leadership/Supervision Participates in the planning process for developing operating procedures, guidelines, and policies. May provide functional and/or administrative supervision. Required Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline or an equivalent combination of education and related technical experience in audiovisual or instructional support may also serve to meet these minimum requirements. Experience, one year providing technology support in an information technology/educational environment. Experience installing and supporting AV devices. Experience with Crestron, Extron, or similar AV equipment. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; the ability to explain computing concepts to non-technical staff. Ability to occasionally move and transport equipment up to 50lbs. Proven record of problem solving skills. Working proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/O365. Desirable Qualifications: Experience with AV control programs and control interfaces. Working experience supporting technology in a higher educational setting. Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies. Certifications: Infocomm CTS, Infocomm CTS-I or other industry certifications. Knowledge of Construction Project management; understanding of construction drawings, documentation, and change order processes, specifically relating to Division 27. Working experience evaluating new and emerging technologies and their potential applications specific to teaching and learning. Experience working in a Service Call Center with an electronic ticketing system.
