Athene is seeking an IT Communications Specialist to play a pivotal role in ensuring effective communication within an organization, particularly in the context of technology. You will be responsible for directing and managing the design, development, and maintenance of IT communications to meet strategic and operational needs of the IT department, including content planning, solicitation, development, facilitation, implementation, and promotion. This individual will report directly to our AVP IT Professional Development. Accountabilities: Partners with Corporate Communications to develop and deliver IT communications to corporate audience.
Solicits, writes, edits and posts relevant, varied content on IT SharePoint site (digITal) and delivers weekly IT newsletter.
Translates technical messaging for non-technical audiences.
Achieves a positive culture measured by IT department feedback.
Creatively crafts messages, articles, and headlines to engage readers.
Demonstrates an influential relationship measured by feedback from IT management.
Design graphics, images, photo collages, PowerPoints and other digital assets following Athene brand guidelines.
Determines appropriate audience for IT messages, and ensures communication provides appropriate level of detail relevant to audience.
Increases departmental awareness, readership, and interaction by soliciting and delivering timely, relevant messages and maintaining a consistent editorial calendar.
Devises creative ways to improve readership, engagement, and awareness.
Integrates communications with IT professional development and talent management opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing or equivalent of education and work experience.
4+ years of applicable IT communications experience.
Consultative approach in working with leadership to plan and develop relevant content.
Demonstrated ability to promote and support a culture of learning, teamwork, recognition, transparency, and trust.
Demonstrated experience in writing, design, and technology.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Experience developing communication strategies that promote training opportunities, security awareness, technology adoption and IT initiatives.
Experience drafting IT-related articles and flat panel displays.
Experience with Adobe Creative products and maintaining a SharePoint site is a plus.
