Summary The IT Change & Release, Operations Lead is a temporary position and will be of limited duration. The IT Change & Release, Operations Lead will be Planning, scheduling, and executing releases to ensure they meet quality standards and align with business objectives. Additionally, you will play a key role in managing production change management activities, ensuring that changes to the IT infrastructure are implemented smoothly and without disruption to services. This position requires strong coordination, communication, and leadership skills to effectively manage release pipelines, implement automation tools, coordinate deployment activities, monitor release progress, and communicate with stakeholders about release status and issues.
Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices. Release Planning and Coordination
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and coordinate software and infrastructure releases, ensuring alignment with business requirements and project timelines. Change Management Integration
Integrate release management activities with the Change Management process, ensuring that changes to applications and infrastructure are properly assessed, authorized, and prioritized. Infrastructure Change Management
Lead the management of production change management that includes infrastructure deployment, changes and configurations, ensuring that changes are implemented smoothly and without adverse effects on IT services. Release Build and Configuration
Oversee the build and configuration of release packages, ensuring that they are properly tested, validated, and documented before deployment. Deployment Automation
Develop and maintain automated deployment pipelines to streamline the release process for both applications and infrastructure changes, minimizing downtime and reducing the risk of errors. Release Execution and Monitoring
Manage the execution of releases into the production environment, monitoring deployment progress and addressing any issues or errors promptly to minimize service disruptions. Post-Release Verification and Reporting
Conduct post-release verification activities, including testing and validation, to ensure that releases meet quality and performance standards. Generate reports on release performance and change management activities, providing insights for
continuous improvement. Stakeholder Communication
Communicate release plans, status updates, and deployment schedules to stakeholders and affected parties, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the release process. Qualifications The following generally describes requirements to successfully perform the assigned duties. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven experience in Service management, release management, change management, and/or infrastructure management roles. In-depth knowledge of release management best practices, tools, and methodologies. Experience with deployment automation tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI/CD. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and departments. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality results. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Service Now, ITSM. ITIL certification or knowledge of ITIL best practices.
