At Seneca, we produce seeds, harvest crops, manufacture our own containers and provide a wide range of nutritious fruit and vegetable products.Irrigation SupervisorThe Irrigation Supervisor will monitor and help in day-to-day activities, delegate work to seasonal helpers, report to Farm Manager through out day to report progress, concerns, and or upcoming tasks that need to be performed.Essential Job FunctionsResponsible for daily repair & maintenance of irrigation and related equipmentResponsible for irrigation operations to make daily irrigations tasks timely and efficient.Work with Farm Managers to maintain a high quality of watering throughout the growing season and timely fertigation applications.Maintain cost controls over equipment for budget purposes.Strong electrical/mechanical trouble shooting skills in irrigation.Three (3) to Five (5) years experience in the irrigation fieldRepair and maintenance of irrigation equipment and related equipmentMaintenance in other areas when needed.Responsible for troubleshooting equipment during growing season to ensure timely application of water and fertigation.The supervisor will help train new employees in irrigation and stay up to date with new changing technologies in irrigation.Employee relationsEnsure that GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), safety rules and regulations along with company policies are being followed.Work in conjunction with managers and other farm employees to maintain efficient day to day operations.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsTwo-year college degree and/ or equivalent electrical/mechanical irrigation experience preferred.Strong attention to detail and accuracyLeadership skills a mustElectrical/mechanical trouble shooting skills.Willingness and ability to work in a team environment and educate/train new employees.Strong communication skills Benefits of working as a Irrigation Supervisor in Central, LA:
