Job Description Montgomery College has an immediate need for a full-time Inventory & Property Control Specialist in the Facilities Department. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. This is a bargaining, non-exempt, grade 15 position. For non-exempt positions, you are not eligible to work a secondary job at Montgomery College. Under supervision and/or direction, the Inventory & Property Control Specialist is responsible for the disposition of surplus property with respect to storage, transport, retirement, disposal, tracking, verifying, and reporting. The incumbent also coordinates the selling of surplus property and operates various motor vehicles, light delivery trucks, and a forklift.
Contacts are with College staff, vendors, contractors, and moving companies with direction from supervisor for purposes of locating, identifying, tagging, removing, storing, and reporting on surplus items within the departments. Duties include but are not limited to: Perform administrative and disposition support duties pertaining to surplus supplies, equipment and furniture. Conduct surplus inventory and control by updating the property control database, locating, identifying, tagging, moving, tracking, storing, disposing, and reporting on surplus items. Coordinate the sale of surplus items, conduct inventories and audits, and operate College motor vehicles such as light delivery vehicles, and a forklift. Vendor, contractor and client coordination is critical to job success. Monitor the warehouse to receive packages as needed. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and/or a combination of education, training and experience providing an understanding of the field. Two years of experience working in a warehouse and/or inventory management operations environment. Knowledge of inventory control, warehouse operations, surplus property programs, and vendor/contractor management. Knowledge of computerized asset management systems or similar inventory tracking software. Skill in verbal and written communication in a diverse and multicultural environment. Skill in operating a personal computer and using word processing and spreadsheet software. Skill in maintaining a filing and record system. Ability to operate various vehicles. The hiring range is $18.55 - $23.19 per hour . Initial salary placement is based on internal equity and relevant candidate experience.
