Summary :
The TekniPlex Environmental Health & Safety team is seeking a summer intern who is prepared to assist with environmental regulation interpretation, applicability determinations, and subsequent permitting pursuant to the Environmental Protection Agency Clean Water Act and Clean Air Act. The intern will also assist in the organization of all environmental permit conditions and activities within a Global Environmental Health and Safety Management (EHS) Software system. During your 8 to 12 weeks in this role, you will actively participate in building a virtual infrastructure for facility personnel to utilize as a tool to adhere to and maintain compliance with all federal, regional, and local environmental requirements. Bring your critical thinking skills, enthusiasm to learn, and teamwork skills to gain insight into the process of understanding environmental regulations, defining facility subjectivity, and achieving compliance with environmental law for all manufacturing and warehousing facilities.
Responsibilities and Learning Opportunities: Identify environmental permit conditions and activities that apply to each facility and input conditions and activities into the EHS software system.
Assign personnel responsibility for task ownership for each permit condition and activity and communicate effectively with personnel, ensuring tasks are tracked to completion. Communicate effectively with environmental professionals using concise writing and verbal communication skills while clearly and thoroughly capturing all pertinent information. Assist in various environmental report preparations and submittals to federal, regional, and local environmental authorities. Assist with environmental project management specific to new sites and/or existing site modifications; identify environmental regulation/s applicable and assist in application preparation, submittal, and tracking of permit lifespan. Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements: Current pursuit of a full-time undergraduate degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Biology, Environmental Engineering, or related field of study. 
Demonstrated initiative, uncompromised integrity, and a results-oriented mindset. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Acute attention to detail with strong quantitative and analytical skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Experience in environmental regulation interpretation and applicability is a plus. Strong motivation and work ethic, as well as the ability to work independently and within a team.
