We are seeking a driven Intermediate FOIA Analyst to join our team and make a meaningful contribution. This role is tailored for individuals who possess a strong background in FOIA processing and are eager to take on new challenges within a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of efficiently managing FOIA requests while maintaining a deep understanding of FOIA regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Independently manage and coordinate FOIA projects, ensuring adherence to deadlines and regulatory standards.
Serve as a bridge between FOIA requesters and our organization, fostering clear and open communication channels.
Conduct thorough document analysis to determine necessary redactions or consultations prior to release.
Oversee the maintenance of detailed FOIA request logs and ensure accurate case tracking.
Collaborate with internal teams to optimize resource allocation and meet FOIA request demands effectively.
Maintain our organization's FOIA records, ensuring proper documentation and management.
Drive process enhancements to streamline the FOIA response process and improve overall efficiency.
Prepare comprehensive FOIA reports and conduct regular reviews to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree
6 years of total experience, with at least 4 years of progressive experience in FOIA "Cradle to Grave" processing
Demonstrated proficiency in handling complex FOIA requests and applying relevant exemptions and redactions accurately.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively negotiate and explain intricate FOIA processes to diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in FOIA management software (e.g., FOIAXpress) and document management systems.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite.
Strong analytical abilities to interpret FOIA legislation and its practical implications.
Effective organizational and time management skills, with a history of meeting tight deadlines.
U.S. citizenship and the ability to successfully undergo a Government background check.
Experience with appeal and litigation processes is desirable.
