Job DescriptionIntake/Scheduler Medical Assistant for Mobile Wound Healing serves as the initial pointof contact for patients seeking wound care services. Mobile Wound Healing deliverswound care services at patients' residences inclusive of their homes, AssistedLiving Facilities, and Independent Living Facilities. This role involves responding toreferrals sent via email, fax, and phone, verifying benefits and eligibility and assistingwith scheduling initial visit.Key Responsibilities:1. Intake Coordination:Serve as the primary liaison between patients, healthcare providers,and mobile wound care teams, facilitating the intake process andcoordinating scheduling of appointments.Collect pertinent demographic information, insurance details, andreferral documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness ofpatient records.2. Referral Management:Receive and process referrals from healthcare providers, casemanagers, and community agencies for patients requiring mobilewound care services.Verify insurance coverage, obtain authorizations, and coordinatenecessary documentation to expedite the referral approval process.3. Documentation and Recordkeeping:Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) forall patients, documenting intake assessments, referrals,communications, and outcomes.Ensure compliance with privacy regulations, confidentiality standards,and organizational policies governing health informationmanagement.Sending out documentation to home health agencies, Assisted livingfacilities and to primary care physicians.Qualifications:Possession of associate degree in medical assisting or medical associate certification from an accredited medical assistant program; Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is preferred.At least 1 year previous experience in a clinical setting, preferably in wound care, home health, or a related field, is desirable.Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical documentation.Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing patient needs and clinical environments.Benefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offVision insuranceStandard shift:* Day shiftWeekly schedule:* Monday to FridayLicense/Certification:* CMA or RMA (Preferred)Ability to Commute:* Columbus, OH (Required)Work Location: In person
