As part of your application process please take a few moments to complete this survey invitation on a desktop, laptop or tablet device.ResponsibilitiesScheduler is responsible for scheduling patient appointments utilizing Central ReachThe Scheduler interacts with patients/visitors in a courteous, appropriate, respectful manner at all times and without exceptionThis position receives incoming calls and routes appropriatelyYou will check in patients, schedule patient appointments using a scheduling software, verify insurance, answer insurance and billing questions, and oversee patient account management.This position performs the following duties in accordance with the established policy and procedures of the practiceReceives incoming telephone calls, transfers calls to appropriate department or personScreens telephone calls, takes messages, records received information accurately and disseminates messages to appropriate personMaintains daily patient appointment scheduling, answers incoming telephone calls, makes patient appointment reminder calls, and retrieves medical records, if necessaryRegisters and/or updates patient demographic information into the System on a daily basisNotifies member of management of suspicious activity observed in or around Center propertyMaintains a neat/well-organized work areaProvides cross coverage for the Patient Service Representative position as requiredParticipates in CQI, other internal committees, special projects/observances or activities that promote improvements in organizational performance and/or advance the mission, goals and objectives of the PracticeMust hold all patient Protected Health Information (PHI), other patient personal information and agency information in confidence, in accordance with the attached Employee Confidentiality Statement, which I have read, understand, and signedActively participate in and comply with all aspects of the Practice's Corporate Compliance Program, follow the Program Code of Conduct and obey all relevant laws, statutes, regulations and requirements applicable to Medicaid, Medicare and other State and Federal health care programsPerforms end of day (EOD) and end of month (EOM) tasks and reportingShift Hours:9am- 6pm M- FQualifications:Excellent organizational skills and strong customer service orientation are required with strong background with computers and data entryFederal, state and HIPAA privacy regulationsKnowledge of scheduling patients in a clinic/medical practice settingEffective verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal, written and oral communications skillsDemonstrates outstanding customer service skills, communicates well and utilizes excellent listening skills and telephone etiquetteExcellent interpersonal skills (tact, discretion and courtesy necessary to always interact cordially and effectively)Represent Practice in a professional manner related to appearance, communication and the maintenance of patient confidentialityAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environmentAbility to understand patient demographic information and determine insurance eligibilityAbility to have consistent attendance and punctualityAbility to effectively incorporate the use of technology into day-to-day tasks (Google Suite, Central Reach)Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, co-workers, management, and providersRequires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment
