Job Summary Insurance Billing Representatives are responsible for reviewing denied or unpaid insurance claims for providers, following up on health insurance- primary, secondary, and tertiary payers and resolving questions and issues with claims. This position is a primary source of contact and follow up to ensure correct resolution for patient's health insurance. They will answer questions, resolve issues, and assist payers with answers to ensure prompt payment of claims. They will also gather appropriate insurance information if it is not already present. The ideal candidate has a working knowledge of the insurance industry, previous experience billing insurance, strong communication skills, a passion for collaborating with others, and expertise in problem-solving. Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent 1 - 2 years office experience in billing insurance in a healthcare environment. Revenue Cycle (healthcare business, financial or insurance) experience Behavioral health and Smart Care experience preferred, but not required. Knowledge of medical and insurance terminology, CPT, ICD coding structures, and billing forms required. Knowledge of Greenway Billing System, eClinical Works, or Meditech- a plus. Experience with all payer types (Medicare, Medicaid, managed care payers) Exemplary communication, organization, and math skills Must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to research to rectify billing errors, discrepancies, and denials Detail oriented and strong organization sills Bilingual in Spanish preferred, but not required Compensation and Benefits $17.00/hour with opportunities for growth/advancement.
