Description: The Division of Management Information Systems (MIS) at the Price College of Business, University of Oklahoma () is looking for a person to fill a faculty position at the rank of an Instructor. For those with a doctoral degree, the position will be titled as a Lecturer. We specifically seek candidates with interest in teaching analytics courses for our graduate programs. A suitable candidate should also be willing to teach courses on databases, programming, and other information systems topics, to undergraduate and graduate business students, in an in-person and online mode. The typical teaching load for the position is eight courses per academic year. Price College offers both undergraduate and graduate courses during the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Graduate level courses are taught only once per week for eight weeks.
Our strong programs in the Division of MIS build on a history of excellence, distinguished faculty members, and an active industry partnership. The division offers an undergraduate major and minor in MIS, graduate in-person and online programs focused on Business Analytics, and a PhD degree. It operates the Center for MIS Studies (CMISS), an industry-academic partnership, through which faculty and business partners collaborate on research and curriculum development. The division has an active MIS Student Association, provides sizable student scholarships annually, and enjoys strong support from the university and industry partners. With a graduate education center in Oklahoma City, Price College is growing its online courses, executive education, health programs and study abroad activities. There are many opportunities for participation, remuneration and professional growth through these new programs, with healthcare and business analytics being key areas.
Qualifications: A graduate degree in MIS or related computing fields is a minimum requirement for an Instructor. For those with a doctoral degree in MIS or related computing fields, the position will be titled as a Lecturer. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong record of teaching excellence.
