The University of Louisville Department of Medicine, Division of Environmental Medicine is seeking an Instructor (term-track) for employment in Louisville, Kentucky.
Our established Center for Cardiometabolic Science has extensive, state-of-the-art shared instrumentation and services to support cutting-edge inquiries into innovative concepts underlying cardiometabolic health and disease. We seek a scientist with a strong background in bioinformatics, with documented training in analyzing Next Generation Sequencing (NGS; RNA-Seq, DNA-Seq, Genome/Exome-Seq, etc.), single-cell sequencing, and spatial transcriptomics data, with the capacity to learn analysis methods for other -omics datasets (proteomics, metagenomics, metabolomics).
A competitive applicant will also have a track record of work in a wet lab, which will help bridge gaps between experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation. Key traits for the individual ultimately selected will be a desire to work collaboratively with other members of the Center for Cardiometabolic Science and to be willing to develop new methods of analyses, as technology in the field advances. A faculty member with these traits would increase our competitiveness for extramural funding and enhance the quality of our research programs.
