Salish Kootenai College seeks applicants for:Instruction and Outreach Services Librarian Salary Range: $16.79/hr-$17.35/hr DOEEFor a complete position description contact:Human Resources, ******** /4977Closing Date: Open Until FilledGeneral Summary: The Instruction and Outreach Services Librarian serves as liaison with a variety of campus academic departments, provides information literacy instruction, reference services, and other duties as assigned.
Major Duties and Responsibilities: Information Literacy Coordinates the collaborative and liaison efforts to integrate information literacy into the Nursing, Liberal Arts, Education, Social Work/Psychology, Native American Studies, and Science departments.Delivers information literacy instruction to students and faculty through workshops andMeasures the effectiveness of the information literacy program.Compiles, maintains and reports information literacy program statistics.Contributes to information literacy program goal setting and visioning.Reference Provides reference services in person, video conferencing, on phone, and via email.Maintains reference services statistical data.Provides reference leadership as needed (when library technicians are unable to adequately provide reference services).Provides and disseminates reference information and skills development to reference desk staff.Provides suggestions for and creates online/print reference tools and guides.Library Operation Assists director with collection development.Assists with circulation tasks (check-in/out, patron registration, fine payment, etc.)Grant seeking/writing.Assist with library events/programs (summer reading program, book sales, celebrations)Active participation in campus classes, events, groups and meetings to assist in the promotion of the SKC Vision and Mission statements.Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree is requiredCreative abilitiesExperience with presentation, spreadsheet, and word processing skills.Experience working in a library/office setting.Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, able to work successfully with library patrons, including students, faculty, tribal members and local high school students.Ability to work collaboratively with library staff to accomplish library and college missions.Experience and ability to work successfully with diverse populations.Providing library outreach services including Early childhood reading programs, Community programs, school programs, and various events on campus.Assist patrons with citation writing styles.Ability to provide reference services.
