Role Summary
This person will be responsible for defining and maintaining the defect resolution strategy for VW connectivity and infotainment product development projects.They will work within a diverse group of engineers and project managers to drive quality and efficiency in the defect resolution process.They should be familiar with product and task management tools such as Jira and Confluence, and skilled at managing the needs of multiple project partners. Role Responsibilities Defect Management Process Coordination (60%) Lead defect resolution strategy for the connected infotainment projects Set-up and moderate control board meetings as required to meet project milestones Drive awareness of and compliance with defect management process and procedure Generation and maintenance of project defect management documentation and reporting, such as templates and status reports Defect Management Quality Assurance (30%) Drive quality and awareness of quality in defect handling processes, such as best practices and necessary contents Ensure effectiveness of defect resolution priorities, by maintaining awareness of customer experience and field issues Drive awareness of general project health and trajectory, in terms of defect in-flow/out-flow, and severity Support for Chattanooga Factory (10%) Supports with analysis of infotainment topics during pre-series and series programs at the Chattanooga factory Hybrid Primary Location United States-Tennessee-Chattanooga Qualifications Years of Experience: 5+ years of related engineering and project management experience Education - Required Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent Education - Desired Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Skills Analytical and conceptual thinking – using logic and reason, creative and strategic Communication skills – able to cleanly and efficiently communicate complex technical topics and results to varied customers and audiences Computer savvy – skilled in the use of software Integration – joining people, processes or systems Influencing and negotiation skills Schedule Planning German skills written and verbal are advantageous Specialized Skills - Required Experience with automotive electrical control modules Building up of work flows and activities to meet the timelines of infotainment development projects Understanding of vehicle communication networks Familiarity with data/task management tools like Jira and Confluence Specialized Skills - Desired Experience with developing infotainment systems, architectures, and system interconnects Experience in connected services and connected application development Experience with Volkswagen infotainment control modules Work Flexibility Travel to the suppliers and VW facilities Volkswagen Group of America is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
