In this position, you will work with clients to deliver best-in-class industrial hygiene services through:
Performing comprehensive industrial hygiene exposure assessments in a wide variety of industries and environments. Project activities may include: Airborne chemical exposure sampling Occupational noise exposure and sound pressure level mapping Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Heat Stress Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) hazard assessments Managing project completion by: Working with corporate and site contacts to schedule work Managing timelines and project budgets Coordinating with knowledgeable NV5 consultants to staff project field work Following up with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and value-added completion of projects and deliverables Red ucing risk to NV5 and client personnel through: Conducting detailed hazard analyses to eliminate or mitigate hazards Coordinate the removal of physical, biological, and chemical hazards from the workplace, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment Conduct thorough inspections of facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards Providing maximum client value by providing comprehensive deliverables, including: Preparing written/verbal reports detailing methods, observations, conclusions, and recommendations in line with industry best practices in hazard mitigation and controls Delivering thorough documentation and records for all deliverables in accordance with applicable local, state, federal, and international regulations Fostering a strong team environment with all stakeholders by: Continuously demonstrating a courteous and professional attitude Being responsive and available to all stakeholders Being thoughtful of your impact on worker's health, safety, and life outside their workplace Sharing knowledge across the organization and with clients We are looking for an energetic industrial hygienist with the following qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environment safety and health, or related field. Experience: 3-5 years of demonstrated working knowledge of conducting industrial hygiene exposure assessments. Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of direct reading instruments, personnel exposure monitoring/sampling procedures, and record keeping requirements. Working knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal regulations is essential. Knowledge of Maritime and/or MSHA standards is desirable. Communication and Teamwork: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are crucial, along with the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team. Hazard Evaluation and Control: Demonstrated proficiency in evaluating hazard controls, including PPE, engineering controls, and work practices. The ability to recommend improvements to eliminate or reduce hazards is vital. Formal Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) training a plus! The pay range for this Washington position is $75,000.00- $85,000.00  per year; based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are also offered to full-time employees, along with Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts, with employee and employer contributions. NV5 provides 3 weeks of Paid Time Off a year for full-time hourly employees along with 8 paid holidays a year and Flexible Time Off plan for full-time salary employees along with 6 paid holidays a year. 401(k) savings plan; Company Paid Basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance; Company Paid Short-term and long-term disability insurance are also provided.
