Develop tactile maps and graphs as needed. Manage inventory of supplies required for daily tasks. Demonstrate proficiency in English language conventions, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Maintain detailed records of all transcriptions, appropriately labeling electronic files for future use. Organize time effectively to ensure materials are promptly available for students. Establish and curate a diverse resource library to explore alternative material formats. Collaborate closely with the Teacher of Students with Vision Impairments (TSVI) to adapt materials as necessary. Stay updated on technological advancements related to braille production and assistive technology interfaces. Convert various materials, such as books, workbooks, tests, and assignments, into accessible formats for visually impaired students.
Requirements Possession of a Washington State License and Certification for the Braillist position. Submission of fingerprints to OSPI (Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction) before commencement.
